In Norrland you control a hunter living in a northern part of Sweden, out on a hunting trip in the wilderness with just some beer, a fishing pole and a hunting rifle. You'll get to hunt animals, row boats, climb some trees and even do a bit of fishing, but do watch out for bloodthirsty mosquitos and close encounters with the angry wildlife. At night you'll make a fire and dream the strangest dreams as you sleep under the starry skies.
|Not Tetris||Maurice||Puzzle||3.52 MB||Click here to download|
Not Tetris is a variation of Tetris plays rather similarly to Alexey Pajitnov's classic puzzle game, but instead of making complete horizontal lines with the tetrominoes the objective here is to fit as many blocks as you can into the well before it reaches the top of the screen. Players can rotate blocks with the A and S key, but when one tetromino touches another it will then be at the mercy of physics and gravity.
There are a couple of audio issues in this build, but Maurice is already hard at work on a sequel that resolves all of the problems and will include the cutting of pieces when a line is ninety-percent full.
|NUD||Sean Chan||Strategy||1.53 MB||Click here to download|
Nud is a tower defense game created by the developer of Battleships Forever, a 2008 IGF finalist in the Design Innovation Award category. Towers in the game (called NUDs) can be placed so that enemies would have to traverse further than usual to reach the exit point, hence allowing players to change their route and also get a couple of extra shots at them along the way. Each NUD confers a different bonus to adjacent NUDs regardless of the type, and when used in conjuction with upgrades your NUDs can cause some serious damage to enemy units.
|Numbers||gedo831||Puzzle||24.0 MB||Click here to download|
In Numbers, players have to match the number of blocks indicated by their numerical values to remove them from the board. When removing these blocks, all adjacent blocks will have their numerical values increased by one, and blocks numbered six will be set to one instead of seven.
|NyaHax'93||alty and nanoray||Shoot 'em up||Browser||Click here to play|
NyaHax'93 is a loose remake of Galaga that features thirty stages to play, boss fights and even the occasional power-up items to collect for ship upgrades. Players are given a total of three minutes to beat the entire game, but you can earn some extra time during the bonus rounds that comes after every boss fight.
Don't forget to turn on the autofire option when starting your mission if you want to avoid getting blisters on your fingers.
|Nyalamander||Ijiwaru Neko Cat||Shoot 'em up||Browser||Click here to play|
Nyalamander is a mouse-controlled 2D scrolling shooter in the style of Salamander and the Gradius series, featuring six levels to beat and a handful of power-up items for the player to collect. Upgrades are in effect the second you pick them up, and when your ship is destroyed you can still save the options if you gather them before they disappear into space.
The level orientation switches from horizontal to vertical after each boss fight, and you have the option to continue playing from any stage you've beaten previously at the main menu screen. The autofire feature can be activated by scrolling up with the mouse wheel, and to turn it off you just need to scroll down using the same wheel.
Note that the game does not store a record of your unlocked levels between browsing sessions, and you'll have to start playing from stage one again if you close or switch browser windows.
