Veck
Ayden WolfShoot 'em up2.39 MBClick here to download

Veck is the latest in a line of Geometry Wars clone for the PC. Graphics are great, the effects are mesmerizing, plus the enemy ships have their own specific behaviors and attack patterns.

Using directional firing is advised, although a joypad is still the best choice for these sort of games. You can guide your ship towards a corner to survive for the first five minutes, but it's not such a safe haven when the portals begin to appear.

A new type of enemy is introduced every minute, and your ship gets a weapon upgrade when that happens. You will be rewarded with the ability to fire hundreds of bullets per second for lasting at least ten minutes in the game. Shields automatically regenerate over time.

Vector Scramble
Gernot FrischShoot 'em up0.28 MBClick here to download

Vector Scramble is a decent remake of Konami's classic horizontal shooter, featuring vector shapes instead of 2D sprites which were found in the original. Mouse controls have been implemented for this release, while flickers can be turned off by pressing the F key.

Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in or out. Destroy tanks to replenish your fuel supply. Watch out for narrow passages, walls and ceilings. The 1981 version was recognized officially as the first game in the Gradius series.

Vegetable Game is a beat 'em up made for UK indie event World Of Love's vegetable/hug-themed game jam, where you play as a bear whose only attack is a hug that can force opponents into submission. There are portions of the game that requires quick reflexes to survive, but most of the fights can be won once you've figured out the trick to defeat the character you're up against.

Players can skip to any level they've beaten previously by pressing the right arrow key at the main menu screen.

Kyle PulverPlatformer7.14 MBClick here to download

Verge is a 2D platformer created by the developer of Bonesaw: The Game, featuring music contributed by Alec Holowka. In it, players assume control over an unnamed protagonist who has to traverse between two worlds in order to solve rudimentary block puzzles and reach the exit of each stage. This will require impaling himself with spikes, using marked tiles on the ground to teleport, or jumping into deep ponds to appear on the other side. Enemies which absorb your soul can be shaken off by pressing the left and right arrow keys repeatedly.

There are nine levels to play in this competition build, and will take about ten to twenty minutes to complete.
