Zillion Beatz is a new vertical shooter by RezetiA, featuring one short level but with five different difficulty settings. The needless configuration and armory shop from Pladzma has been ditched, allowing folks who don't speak Japanese to sample some of the gameplay on offer with little hassle.
Either ship is outfitted with two primary weapons, switchable using the C key. Hold the Z key to shoot, and press the X key to launch a bomb. The type of bomb launched depends on the current primary weapon in use, but still shares the same slot. It's possible to orient the option position by moving your ship around, then locking them in their current alignment by holding the Z key.
Only the weapon currently in use will be upgraded when a power-up is collected. Options can be aligned right in front of your ship by holding the W key.

In Zombie Baseball, you assume control of John the baseball player who must fend off twenty waves of zombie attacks using only his trusty bat and balls pitched by a fellow survivor named Sam. Press the A or S key to swing either your primary or secondary bat. You score twice as many points for decapacitating the undead.
An upgrade point is awarded for every increase in level, which can then be distributed among any of the three possible player upgrades. Start off early with the ball frequency upgrade to last longer in the game.

In Zombie Game Engine Test, players assume the role of a survivor who has to save his townsfolk a zombie invasion. This is achieved by grabbing any weapons in sight and using them to take out the zombies, shown as green circles on the landscape. Press the left mouse button to shoot, and use the right mouse button to reload.
Civilians represented by orange circles will turn into zombies shortly after infection.

Zombiepox is another excellent freeware originally coded by Johan Peitz for the 2004 Ludumdare 48 hour contest. Gameplay is simple, feed the zombie horde brains to turn them back into humans again. Your throwing range is short, but you can leave them on the ground for the undead to walk over which will do the trick as well.

Zompocalypse is a 2D action game created by the developer of My First Skydiving Academy, featuring voice acting by Mark Johns. In it, you assume control of a cop named Chuck McPain who has to take out zombies hungry for human flesh.
Use the W, A, S, D, or cursor keys to move, and tap the Z key repeatedly to shoot. Press the X key to reload your gun whenever you run out of ammunition. Earn experience points to increase your level and unlock a new weapon.

In Zoo Keeper, you basically swap tiles around to make matches of three or more. Remove a certain number of tiles as stated on the top right of the screen to proceed to the next level.
You have to sit through an ad before being allowed to play. Minor hassle since the game itself is worth the wait.
Will win you over with it's simplicity and cute graphics. Definitely a keeper.

Zoo Keeper DX is a matching game by ROBOT which involves swapping tiles around to make matches of three or more. This updated version includes special tiles which can be used as a substitute for any tile on board, a helpful hint feature, and the handy checklist to keep track of your level objectives.

Zoomines is a new release that uses sprites from the popular Flash online game, Zoo Keeper, with the familiar gameplay system seen in Mizuguchi's masterpiece. Blocks are moved around using the arrow keys, whilez pressing the A or D key will rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise.
This version uses hi-res sprites and backgrounds coupled with smooth framerates. The music is pretty good as well. Available for both Windows and Mac.

Zoomstar Megaracing Maximum is a bite-sized racing game which requires only the use of two keys to play. There are only six tracks to race on but the challenge is extended by variations on the number of laps required to complete a race, different cars and slightly modified tracks for each of the nine trophies.
Use the left or right cursor keys to steer the hover car. Speed decreases whenever your car passes over grass or sand, and will explode when it comes to a halt.

The plot of Zub involves navigating through ten different planets to find the lost Eye of Zub. Each planet is connected to some others by a system of teleports. You start on planet 1 and must get to planet 10 and back.
There are platforms on each screen, when you stand on one you can move it by crouching and pushing left or right. Use the platforms to get up to the three teleports at the top, your destination depending on which you choose. There is always at least one alien on screen at any one time, which descends from the top and attempts to knock you off the platforms.
