Zillion Beatz is a new vertical shooter by RezetiA, featuring one short level but with five different difficulty settings. The needless configuration and armory shop from Pladzma has been ditched, allowing folks who don't speak Japanese to sample some of the gameplay on offer with little hassle.

Either ship is outfitted with two primary weapons, switchable using the C key. Hold the Z key to shoot, and press the X key to launch a bomb. The type of bomb launched depends on the current primary weapon in use, but still shares the same slot. It's possible to orient the option position by moving your ship around, then locking them in their current alignment by holding the Z key.

Only the weapon currently in use will be upgraded when a power-up is collected. Options can be aligned right in front of your ship by holding the W key.

In Zombie Baseball, you assume control of John the baseball player who must fend off twenty waves of zombie attacks using only his trusty bat and balls pitched by a fellow survivor named Sam. Press the A or S key to swing either your primary or secondary bat. You score twice as many points for decapacitating the undead.

An upgrade point is awarded for every increase in level, which can then be distributed among any of the three possible player upgrades. Start off early with the ball frequency upgrade to last longer in the game.

Zombiepox is another excellent freeware originally coded by Johan Peitz for the 2004 Ludumdare 48 hour contest. Gameplay is simple, feed the zombie horde brains to turn them back into humans again. Your throwing range is short, but you can leave them on the ground for the undead to walk over which will do the trick as well.

In Zoo Keeper, you basically swap tiles around to make matches of three or more. Remove a certain number of tiles as stated on the top right of the screen to proceed to the next level.

You have to sit through an ad before being allowed to play. Minor hassle since the game itself is worth the wait.

Will win you over with it's simplicity and cute graphics. Definitely a keeper.

The plot of Zub involves navigating through ten different planets to find the lost Eye of Zub. Each planet is connected to some others by a system of teleports. You start on planet 1 and must get to planet 10 and back.

There are platforms on each screen, when you stand on one you can move it by crouching and pushing left or right. Use the platforms to get up to the three teleports at the top, your destination depending on which you choose. There is always at least one alien on screen at any one time, which descends from the top and attempts to knock you off the platforms.
