|L' Abbaye des Morts ||Locomalito||Platformer||1.39 MB||Click here to download|
L' Abbaye des Morts (The Abbey of the Dead) is another excellent game from the creator of Hydorah and 8-Bit Killer, a 2D platformer that draws inspiration from classics such as Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy. Here you play as Jean Raymond, a preacher who escapes to an abandoned church after being chased by a group of crusaders. Following the instructions on parchments left behind by past occupants of the building, Jean must seek out and collect the twelve cathar crosses before he can escape from his pursuers.
Each of the twenty-three rooms have a different name to label the location, and some of the short descriptive text may even provide clues on how to solve a puzzle or two. Jean does not carry a weapon nor will he acquire one during his adventure, and the cursor keys are the only controls you ever need to use in this game from start to end.
L' Abbaye des Morts can be beaten in a single afternoon, although it is unlikely that you will complete the quest on your first try.

|La Croix Pan||TheJBurger||Adventure||8.73 MB||Click here to download|
La Croix Pan tells the tale of a lone American sniper who enters a small town with the task of defending it by himself. The flashlight plugin is put to good use by the author, and though the game is short it still manages to instill a bit of suspense into the proceedings effectively enough.

|La-Mulana ||GR3 Project, Nigoro||Platformer||6.11 MB||Click here to download|
La-Mulana is a freeware free-roaming platformer game designed to look, sound, and play like a classic MSX game. It's heavily influenced by the classic Konami MSX game 'The Maze of Galious' and anyone who has played that title will probably recognize the similarities very quickly. You play the whip-wielding Indiana Jones-esque archaeologist Lemeza Kosugi as he investigates the ancient ruins of La-Mulana in an attempt to find its treasure and one-up his father, who is trying to get the same treasure as well.
The game is huge, with many different areas to explore and dozens of items and weapons to find. Each area has a large variety of puzzles and traps and you need to solve the puzzles in each area to discover the Ankhs and Ankh Jewels, which allow you to fight the eight Guardians of the ruins. To solve the puzzles you'll need to be able to read the tablets scattered throughout the ruins, which will require a Hand Scanner and translation software for the portable MSX that Lemeza has brought along on the adventure. Your Hand Scanner will also allow you to find items and search the bones of less fortunate adventurers.
|Labyrinth Hero||Skipmore||RPG||Browser||Click here to play|
Labyrinth Hero is a bite-sized roguelike game where each floor consists of only two enemies, a treasure chest, a switch and a hidden staircase. You can play with either the keyboard or mouse, but your hero will only travel at half speed because every living creature on the floor will have their turn just after you've made your move. Once you've dispatched both enemies, the movement speed will then be restored back to normal.
Your maximum hit point is increased by one whenever you put down an enemy. If you lose at any stage you can begin from the first floor with your previous hit point stats, simply by selecting yes to the question asked after you've clicked on the play option. There are only ten floors to explore, and the quest is completed once you've discovered the magical crystal ball somewhere in the final level.
|Labyrinthos||Daredevil||RPG||Browser||Click here to play|
Labyrinthos is a small role-playing game in the style of the Dungeon Master series, where players assume control over a hero who is looking for monsters to slay for combat experience. Your starting equipment can never be changed or removed, meaning that stats can only be increased by raising the level of your character.
Health is restored automatically after every battle, and you can save or load your game using the menu shown in the map screen.
|Lackadaisium||Sebastian Janisz||Adventure||7.76 MB||Click here to download|

No progress save feature is available, but Lackadaisium doesn't really need one since it only takes about ten or fifteen minutes to play through the entire game.
|LadyBug 2k6||danjo, Danny Boyd||Action/Arcade||7.43 MB||Click here to download|
LadyBug 2k6 is a rather competent remake of the original with updated graphics, but it does carry the tag of a Pac-Man clone with gameplay that doesn't translate too well for the current generation of gamers.
Still, there's quite a number of additions and extras in this effort to merit the attention from fans of the original.
