Takase's Dot Fighters is quite a departure from his previous work. Detailed 2D sprites prominently featured in Arm Joe have now been replaced with characters made out of huge pixels. Their faces are usually made out of several colored squares, with eyes and mouths left out of their portraits to accomodate the new style.
There are plenty of moves to choose from, with devastating ones limited to the amount of Dot Power that you have accumulated during each fight. Only four fighters are available in the latest version, though Quest Mode does include additional boss encounters and bonus rounds.
Only two attack buttons are ever used, but there's plenty of moves to learn and executing them doesn't require excellent memory skills. Press the A key to punch and tap the S key to kick. The escape key can be used to pause the game. Press alt-Enter to play in full screen mode.
Combos are usually initiated by tapping one of the action buttons repeatedly. Additional moves such as air combos, reversals, throws, safe landings and rolls are all here. Recommended for fans of the genre, and well worth the 285MB download.

A collaborative effort between Terry Cavanagh, Hayden Scott-Baron and Alex May, the aim of Bullfist is to acquire as many points as you can in under one minute. This means guiding a herd of bulls, gathering their wounded mates, and destroying everything in their path before time runs out.
Some objects can only be destroyed when the herd is of a certain size. The special bullrage mode is activated when you've gathered six bulls in your stampede party, and you can extend the sequence by gathering more bulls before it ends.
A Kongregate account is required to submit scores online.

QWOP is a ragdoll-based Flash game by Benzido, developer of Too Many Ninjas and Top Spinner. In it, you play an athlete named Qwop who is participating in a hundred metres sprint event at the Olympic Games. Using only the Q, W, O and P keys, players must attempt to finish the event or at least get as far as they can without falling over.
A help screen can be accessed by clicking on the question mark at the top left corner of the game window. You can also restart immediately by pressing the R key at any time.

Cloud is a third-person computer puzzle game based on weather and atmospheric aesthetics. The game features distinctive hand-drawn art, as well as non-violent, whimsical play inspired by Keita Takahashi's Katamari Damacy.
The object of Cloud varies between the four missions presented in the game. In the early stages, the player is freely allowed to become accustomed to the controls in a type of tutorial. The player experiments with flight, which occurs on a 2D plane. Speed depends on the distance of the cursor from the player's avatar. 3D flight can be attained by holding the 3rd mouse button. There are three types of clouds in Cloud.
Neutral Clouds: Gray in color, these clouds do not respond to the player. If they come into contact with white clouds, they will be purified and turn into white clouds.
White Clouds: White in color, these clouds belong to the player and will follow the player in flight. If the player travels too quickly, however, these clouds will break away from the player's pull. A connection can be reestablished by flying close to the white clouds.
Dark Clouds: Black in color, these clouds can be considered the game's enemies. When the player flies into a collection of black clouds, the player's white clouds will combine with the dark clouds, eliminating both of them and forming rain. Numbers play an important role in this aspect of the gameplay. A large number of white clouds will more easily overpower a small number of dark clouds, and vice versa.
The shift key and left mouse button combination is utilized to gather white clouds inside the player, though there is a limit to this. If the player holds the control key while stationary, a single cloud will form that will increase in height. A short white cloud cannot purify a tall dark cloud, and so the white cloud must be made taller in order to conquer a large dark cloud.
If the control key and left mouse button combination is pressed while moving, individual white clouds will be released one by one along the flight path. This allows the player to draw intricate drawings in the air for both primary mission-based objectives and secondary puzzle levels.

Shift 2 is a platformer with puzzle elements based on the idea of shifting dimensions. Use the cursor keys to move your character, and press the space key to jump. The left shift key can be used to switch positions.
The game is rather short, but achievements and medals have been included in this sequel to extend replay value by a small measure.

In Opera Omnia you play a state historian who is charged by his politician friend to come up with convenient theories about migration in the past. Basically, you have to think backwards: if people were in this city during a plague, and if plagues reduce population, that means that they had to have had a lot of people in order to survive that plague: thus, plagues actually increase population if you work backwards in time.
The challenge of each level is that you're given something to prove -- such as prove that 300,000 people lived in this city a long time ago -- and you adjust migration patterns that will show how 300,000 people could have lived in that city a long time ago.
The gameplay may be a bit hard to "get" at first, and a lot of the people I've recommended the game to had a hard time wrapping their mind around the concept, but if you do manage to do it you'll find it a clever gameplay mechanic and some interesting challenges unlike most other games. There's also a pretty well-written story over the span of its 20 levels. - Paul Eres

A browser-based multiplayer strategy game for seven players, kdice was originally based on Taro Ito's Dice Wars. Gameplay is similar to Risk with the primary goal of the game being to control every territory on the map.
kdice is played on a randomly-selected map with twenty-eight to thirty-one territories. At the start of a game, territories are randomly divided among the players and a random number of dice representing armies are stacked on each territory. A player is then randomly selected to go first.
The objective is to control every territory on the map, accomplished by attacking other players' territories. Players can only attack territories that are adjacent to their own. When an attack is started, the game will roll the dice of each territory and compare the results. If the attacking player has the higher number, he wins control of the territory. All but one of the dice from the attacking territory are then moved to the defeated territory. Otherwise, the attacker does not gain control and the number of dice in his stack will reduce to one.
At the end of the turn, the player receives a number of dice equal to the largest number of contiguous territories he controls, and the dice are placed randomly throughout the player's territories. A scoring system ranks users based on dominance throughout the game in addition to place.

Winged Gear is another superb freeware title from Japan that could be described as a mix of Smash TV and SHMUP-type gameplay elements. The game is essentially a top down shooter where you have to guide a ship from room to room full of enemies to shoot at.
You're only allowed to exit a room once it has been cleared of every single hostile unit. There's a time limit that makes matter difficult, but it is usually replenished when you enter a new room.
Special items can be collected to increases your ship's firepower for a short while or replenish your bomb supply. The developers have also thrown in a two player mode as an added bonus.

Players start out with three minutes of play time in Protoganda. Defeating a boss awards an extra fifteen seconds, while getting your ship blown up deducts forty. If the timer reaches zero, you lose.
In Shield mode, press the Z and X key to repel bullets. A charge shot can be used by holding the X key, and targeting is automatic.
Absorb mode is a replica of Ikaruga's gameplay mechanics. Switch colors to turn invulnerable agains bullets of the same color. Touch a bullet to absorb it, and increase the destructive power of your charge shot while replenishing a bit of time in the process. More damage is done if your bullets of the opposite color connect with the enemy. Press the C key to release a charged shot.
There are two separate online highscore tables for both modes. The bosses name are selected from a list of fifty most common Russian family names.
Press the F1 function key to change resolution to 640x480 for a larger gameplay window display, and use the R key during a game to restart immediately without returning to the main menu.

In Frozzd, you take the role of an astronaut tasked with the mission of freeing orange-colored creatures named Mubblies from their frozen state. You begin each level with King Mubbly as your companion, who has the ability to unfreeze his subjects or attack the Frozzds with a tap of the space key. Drink coffee to increase your suit's temperature, and use the points you've acquired to unlock new stages.
Each of the twelve levels introduces a different enemy, and points acquired from previous stages can be used to unlock new ones.
