Vanguard Princess is a freeware versus fighting game created with Enterbrain's 2D Fighter Maker engine, featuring the sort of quality normally reserved for full-price commercial releases. There are ten playable characters to choose from, an assortment of special moves distinct to each combatant, excellent sprite work, creative costume designs, and even a multiplayer mode that is unfortunately limited to just two people playing on the same computer with no online capabilities. Depending on your interest in the genre you could still squeeze out an hour's play or two from it, although the end sequence for every character is practically the same.
The game will only work on Windows operating systems which can read names of files and folders in Japanese, or those that already have the Japanese language pack already installed. You can switch between full screen and windowed mode by using the left Alt and Enter key, while the button configuration option is accessible via the menu bar.

|---|
Voxelstein 3D is a remake based loosely on ID's FPS classic, created by Hans Krieg using Ken Silverman's Voxlap engine. The game consists of only one short level, in which players must find a way out of the mansion they are trapped in using any means necessary. This may involve the conventional way of opening doors, or chipping away at walls or obstacles blocking your path to reveal an exit.
A text configuration file found inside the game folder can be edited for a number of amusing results. Hold the I, L and M keys to restore health, unlock all weapons and receive plenty of ammunition.

|---|
Vs Snake is a decent two player implementation of the classic time waster, with a configurable A.I. thrown in for good measure. There are even four different skins to choose from, though the gameplay is a little too basic and won't sustain interest for more than a couple of minutes.
