| Ikiki | Platformer | 1.57 MB | Click here to download (external link) |
|---|
Teppoman 2 is a 2D action platformer that puts you in control of a caped assassin with a craving for bananas, specifically the brown-coloured ones which can only be found inside a heavily-fortified base under the command of a white-hooded man.
Our trained killer has a number of specialized skills that could be used to navigate around traps and silence unsuspecting enemies, plus he can also utilize all manner of ranged weapons when the situation calls for it. Players have to learn how to execute dash, wall jumps, reverse jumps, glide, body surf, and more if they plan to make it further into the enemy's fortress.
There is a boss battle in every fifth stage, and you're only allowed to continue playing after beating the boss challenge if you manage to meet the banana collection requirements. For example, to pass the fifth level you would need to have five bananas in your possession, and playing level eleven and onwards require a minimum of fifteen bananas.

| Davioware | Platformer | 18.4 MB | Click here to download (external link) |
|---|
TowerClimb is a procedurally-generated 2D platformer created for Game Jolt's Rogue Contest, in which you play as a random explorer trying to reach the highest point of an endless tower. There is only one action button to use in addition to standard character movement controls, but when holding the X key down you can jump off platforms, scale walls and even climb ceilings.
Besides the items that you carry in your inventory, you can also trade orange berries with shady merchants for more equipment to use. Purple berries bestow the power to double jump, but try not to consume too much or you'll have a rather upset stomach to contend with.

 | La-Mulana
| GR3 Project, Nigoro | Platformer | 6.11 MB | Click here to download |
|---|
La-Mulana is a freeware free-roaming platformer game designed to look, sound, and play like a classic MSX game. It's heavily influenced by the classic Konami MSX game 'The Maze of Galious' and anyone who has played that title will probably recognize the similarities very quickly. You play the whip-wielding Indiana Jones-esque archaeologist Lemeza Kosugi as he investigates the ancient ruins of La-Mulana in an attempt to find its treasure and one-up his father, who is trying to get the same treasure as well.
The game is huge, with many different areas to explore and dozens of items and weapons to find. Each area has a large variety of puzzles and traps and you need to solve the puzzles in each area to discover the Ankhs and Ankh Jewels, which allow you to fight the eight Guardians of the ruins. To solve the puzzles you'll need to be able to read the tablets scattered throughout the ruins, which will require a Hand Scanner and translation software for the portable MSX that Lemeza has brought along on the adventure. Your Hand Scanner will also allow you to find items and search the bones of less fortunate adventurers.

 | VVVVVV - Windows, Mac (demo) | Terry Cavanagh, distractionware | Platformer | 13.5 MB | Click here to download (external link) |
|---|
VVVVVV is designed around one really simple mechanic: zero gravity jumping. Whenever you jump, you take off into the air and donft stop until you hit a ceiling. Then you can walk around a bit, and jump back down. In VVVVVV, itfs not a gimmick; itfs the basic mechanic - every single jump reverses your gravity. Itfs the starting point.
The game is set in a big open world, with lots to explore. As well as that, the game has a number of smaller, linear levels set in this - the idea is that they contain gameplay elements not found anywhere else. As a result, you can tackle these 'dungeons' in any order you find them in.

 | Digital: A Love Story - Windows, Mac, Linux
| Christine Love | Adventure | 34.2 MB | Click here to download |
|---|
Digital: A Love Story is an interactive fiction game created by Christine Love, presented through Bulletin Board Systems that you can visit and read using an operating system interface which mimics those found in computers from the late 1980s. At the start of your adventure a message in your inbox offers a phone number for you to dial up and log into your first BBS, and once you're familiar with the set of applications on your virtual desktop the tasks of replying to messages and initiating conversations with strangers can all be done with just the click of a button.
Though there's quite a bit of text to read in Digital: A Love Story, the game won't take longer than an afternoon to play through. The control scheme is admittedly clunky (e.g. you can't use the Enter key to submit a phone number, although it works when you're transferring codes), but persevere and you will be rewarded with an absorbing experience that no other game from this day and age can offer.

 | Spewer
| Edmund McMillen, Eli Piilonen | Platformer | 12.6 MB | Click here to download |
|---|
Spewer is a new physics-based platformer created by the prolific Edmund McMillen and Eli Piilonen, featuring music by Gravity Hook and Meat Boy music composer Daniel Baranowsky. You are in control of a test subject named Spewer, who must escape from the clutches of a scientist by surviving all fifty-five rooms inside a maze-like laboratory, one level at a time.
Spewer's ability to regurgigate and consume bodily fluid will be called upon frequently, as you attempt to make it past the traps and obstacles that had been placed cleverly to halt your escape. The first few stages also act as sort of a tutorial, where you will be put through your paces under the watchful eye of your observator. Note that there is a limit to how much fluid your body can store and spew out, so if you empty the tank completely then you'll have to eat food or even your own vomit before being allowed to regurgigate any further.
Due to the heavy use of liquid physics, the game might probably run a bit slow on some browsers. To counter this problem, Edmund has included a link to the download version on the title screen which should work better on older machines.
A secret chapter with additional stages is unlocked automatically once you've completed the original five story chapters. The game also features a map editor that can be used to create and share new levels of your own design with other players.
