Another Experimental Gameplay Competition entry, String Theory is an action game in which you attempt to guide a spider-like entity around vector-shaped landscapes. The adventure ends if you allow the creature to exit past the edge of the screen.
Four of your limbs can be extended by using the numeric keypad, though elasticity is lost quickly and they soon detach from ceilings or walls in a matter of seconds if left unattended for long.
The scrolling speed and screen size can be altered by editing a text file.

Saucelifter is a brilliant Choplifter remake featuring vector graphics for enemy vehicles, turrets and buildings. Press the Z or C key to shoot in either direction, or hold the X key to aim downwards. The landing gears will appear automatically when your ship approaches the ground.
The aim of the game is basically to grab up to eight hostages at any one time and transport them to the teleporter on the right. Land right next to it and they will exit the ship and walk onto the platform automatically.
Paul was also one of the developers involved in the Sword of Fargoal remake.

Machinarium is a 2D adventure game set in strange rusty metallic place populated only by robots. The story is about a little robot named Josef who has been unjustly thrown out to the scrap yard behind the city. In the game he returns to the town where he meets the bad guys from Black Cap Brotherhood - they are just preparing a bomb attack on the central tower where the town ruler has residence in. Of course our hero must stop them and also rescue his friend robot-girl.

7 Days a Skeptic is an adventure game by Ben Croshaw with a horror mystery theme, and serves as a sequel to 5 Days a Stranger.
You play as Dr. Jonathan Somerset, a psychiatrist on a spaceship named The Mephistopheles. The crew discovers an unknown object floating unprotected in deep space during an assignment, and duly transported it into the ship under orders of the captain. This sets the wheels in motion for a disturbing tale with lots of turns and twists before the suspenseful end is revealed.
7 Days a Skeptic contains fewer puzzles and more action elements than its predecessor, and is also made with the AGS engine.

Originally a game for the Spectrum, the Head Over Heels remake by Graham Goring and Tomaz Kac is faithful in every way but with new graphics to entice a new generation of gamers.
The player is required to alternate between two characters often in order to solve perplexing puzzles, each with their own special skills and abilities. Head can jump twice as high and fire doughnuts, while Heels is able to carry objects using a bag.

Spewer is a new physics-based platformer created by the prolific Edmund McMillen and Eli Piilonen, featuring music by Gravity Hook and Meat Boy music composer Daniel Baranowsky. You are in control of a test subject named Spewer, who must escape from the clutches of a scientist by surviving all fifty-five rooms inside a maze-like laboratory, one level at a time.
Spewer's ability to regurgigate and consume bodily fluid will be called upon frequently, as you attempt to make it past the traps and obstacles that had been placed cleverly to halt your escape. The first few stages also act as sort of a tutorial, where you will be put through your paces under the watchful eye of your observator. Note that there is a limit to how much fluid your body can store and spew out, so if you empty the tank completely then you'll have to eat food or even your own vomit before being allowed to regurgigate any further.
Due to the heavy use of liquid physics, the game might probably run a bit slow on some browsers. To counter this problem, Edmund has included a link to the download version on the title screen which should work better on older machines.
A secret chapter with additional stages is unlocked automatically once you've completed the original five story chapters. The game also features a map editor that can be used to create and share new levels of your own design with other players.

Return to Sector 9 is the long awaited sequel to Ambush in Sector 9. Featuring nine game modes, fifteen ships to pilot, plenty of weaponry, and plenty of aliens to use it on.

With a quirky name which is actually evolution spelled backwards, Noitu Love and the Army of Grinning Darns is quickly gaining widespread recognition for it's classic platforming goodness.
Controls are stripped down to basics, featuring the standard punch and jump plus two more attack variations assigned to both the left control and shift key. Much like Capcom's Mega Man series, you get to utilize certain devices to change form and access special powers. The first few levels may seem repetitive but the game does get better after the second stage.
Most of the highlights occur during boss battles, where each leader has to be defeated using different strategies. The final boss encounter is simply amazing, even when compared to other platformers freeware or otherwise. A word of advice, you'll miss out on quite a bit if the easy difficulty setting is chosen. Japanese developers are pretty obsessed with Moai statues. Nest of Moai is basically an entire game based on the objective of touching these strange structures with your mouse cursor.
Move your cursor over as many statues as possible in thirty seconds, although these tiny little guys will attempt to make matters difficult by popping up in odd places. Large statues require some rubbing, but they do contribute quite a bit to your score.

Cursor10 is a puzzler which involves directing the actions of all ten cursors and clicks, one at a time. Events will loop, but it will take at least a couple of tries to figure out a solution for all sixteen floors.
