In Alex the Allegator 4, your task is to guide Alex through the jungle in order to save his girlfriend Lola from her captors. Every level has an exit which Alex must find in order to advance to the next level.
On his way, Alex can pick up various thing for points and powerups. Enemies can be jumped on and eaten, or you can spit on them. Eating them will generate more points. To spit, you'll need ammo. This is obtained by eating large eggs that are scattered over the levels.
Another way of defeating enemies is the roll mode. On some levels you can find a rotating symbol. Step on it and Alex will turn into a ball and roll fast in the direction he was facing.
When rolling, Alex can crash into the enemies without losing health. He can also crash into some blocks and make new paths through the level. While rolling, it is impossible to stop or turn. Alex will not stop until he hits a wall.
If you collect all stars and cherries on every level, a special secret will be unlocked.

Apathetic Spatula in Crazyland is a 3D platformer made to frustrate even the most hardened arcade action and platformer veterans. The game starts off innocently enough, but then introduces a couple of difficult obstacle courses and disappearing platforms to players determined enough to reach the blue area. Of course, none of these can compare to the invisible tiles placed inside the red rooms.
Use the cursor keys to move the spatula, and press the space key to jump. The E, S, D and F keys can be used to control the camera.

In ASCIIpOrtal you can fire up to two portals with your hand-held portal device, then enter through one before coming out of the other for some mind-bending teleportation effect. Some of the puzzles in this 2D remake of Valve's Portal include manipulating switches using blocks, placing portals on the other side of chain links, dodging boulders before they crush you, and avoiding laser fields that will burn your flesh instantly on contact.
Links to binaries for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems all available from the Cymon's Games site.
|Assassin Blue||Banov||Platformer||9.36 MB||Click here to download|
Assassin Blue is a 2D platformer with combat elements, consisting of twelve levels split evenly between four distinct areas to explore. In the game, players assume control over a sword-wielding hitman who must carry out a series of missions for his superior. This naturally translates to a lot of jumping, climbing and fighting as you make your way past hordes of henchmen leading up to the commander of each resistance group.
The entire adventure takes about an afternoon or two to finish. To use the high quality soundtrack instead of the standard MIDI tunes, simply download the optional 30 MB music add-on from the same page and unzip it into the game folder. An option to switch between the two will then appear just before the title screen is shown.
|AutoCannibalism||Krimelo||Platformer||6.04 MB||Click here to download|
AutoCannibalism is a short 2D platformer that implements this month's Experimental Gameplay Project theme rather cleverly. In it you play as a tribesman chosen by his father to save their clan from starvation, with the rumor being that the nearest source of sustenance can only be found inside an unexplored network of caves located just on the outskirts of their village.
Expect to finish the game in about fifteen minutes or so, and once you've seen the story the first time it's quite unlikely that you'll go back to it for a repeat adventure.
|Baggage||Daray Manning||Platformer||3.35 MB||Click here to download|
Baggage is a short 2D platformer that features an unnamed character who is late for a flight, with your task being to collect all of your luggages to place at the baggage claim before the plane takes off. There are only ten levels to play in total, and though the game seems buggy at times it should still be beatable with just a bit of perseverance and patience.
Note that the developer did not include any hints about the double jump ability, which is needed to get through the first area. You can use the F4 function key to switch between windowed and full screen mode.
