|Fairy Attackers||Alpha Secret Base||Platformer||24.2 MB||Click here to download|
Fairy Attackers is a brilliant retro platformer by Alpha Secret Base, creator of the excellent Umihara Kawase Shun tribute called Gambare Natsuki-San. Press the Z key to throw your weapon at enemies, or hold the down arrow key to use your shield and reflect harmful projectiles.
The up arrow key can be used to open doors, activate objects and initiate conversations with other characters. Touch the stone with inscriptions to save your progress, or drink from the tiny fountain to restore health. Once you've gained a travel companion, press the C key to hold it for an additional float ability. A map can be accessed by using the S key.
|FallOver||Hempuli, Arvi Teikari||Platformer||2.12 MB||Click here to download|
FallOver is Hempuli's physics-based platformer that feels broken at first, but then becomes rather fun after spending a couple of minutes coming to gripes with an unbalanced protagonist and the floaty control scheme. You play as a gentleman who has to collect coins and reach the white flag safely, as he is prone to fall over with the slightest touch of any bump on the landscape. Players can stand up to three times if they happen to trip, and a quick restart button is included in case you use up all of your retries.
There are nine levels to beat in total.
|Fetus||Ted Lauterbach||Platformer||2.89 MB||Click here to download|
Fetus is a puzzle platformer in which you play as a blue character lost in a strange world, seeking to exact revenge on the party responsible for trapping him there in the first place. There is no screen scrolling and your character cannot jump, but Ted still manages to construct one or two surprises to catch the player off-guard.
The game is rather short in length and can be completed in under half an hour or less, assuming that none of the puzzles are giving you any trouble.
|FiNCK||Nifflas||Platformer||31.5 MB||Click here to download|
In Nifflas' 2D platformer FiNCK (short for Fire Nuclear Crocodile Killer), you play an unnamed protagonist who has the ability to pick up blocks and enemies to use for solving puzzles. Heavy blocks are perfect for stacking, while blue blocks can slide through small corridors that you would normally have problems squeezing into. An enemy behavior also determines what kind of ability you would get when you grab one with your bare hands.
Some sections of the game requires you to execute a double jump move as well, which is performed by throwing a block downwards when you are at the apex of your jump. There are five areas to explore in total, with additional challenges presented in the form of coins that you can choose to collect or ignore. Both the game and the level editor are free to download, but it will cost you a small nominal fee to unlock the custom level support for playing user-created content.
|FLaiL||Matthew Thorson||Platformer||11.0 MB||Click here to download|
FLaiL is a new platformer by Matt Thorson of Helix Games Inc., author of An Untitled Story and the Jumper series. The game consists of eighty stages in total, and new zones can only be unlocked when the player has acquired a certain number of points from previous areas.
The first zone works as a basic tutorial for most of your character's skills. In addition to standard jumping abilities, players can also teleport in any of the eight directions by holding down the mapped fly button.
This release includes an automatic save feature, level editor and a configuration utility for keyboard control mapping.
|Flickerstrings||Hempuli, Arvi Teikari||Platformer||3.14 MB||Click here to download|
Flickerstrings is a new experimental work created by the developer of FIG and Jump on Mushrooms: The Game. In it, players are required to draw an object to use as a playable character, starting from the brown box and ending when the maximum line length is reached. Once drawn, the shape can be moved around using the cursor keys. This shape turns into an immovable platform when the player attempts to draw another shape from the brown box.
The length of each string is limited, but you can cancel any mistakes by right clicking before the shape is drawn. You can also press the space key to restart a level at any time.
There are a total of twelve stages included in this version.
|Focus||Jesse Venbrux||Platformer||17.5 MB||Click here to download|
In Focus you find yourself trapped in a cave full of traps and robots that fire missiles at you on sight. You will learn a skill called 'focus mode' early in the game, which can be used to teleport yourself anywhere inside a blue circle. Some momentum is applied as well, but the longer you hold the focus button the smaller the circle becomes, hence your teleport range will shrink until it is no longer possible to perform the feat. The focus field also causes everything inside the circle to move in slow motion, and focus power is regained by not using it for a couple of seconds.
Players who complete the game will receive a rank and a medal to honour their achievement, although some might find the game a bit too challenging because of random elements such as the behavior of falling debris and homing missiles.
|Frogatto ||Lost Pixels||Platformer||92.1 MB||Click here to download|
Frogatto is a freeware 2D platformer which stars a frog that can swallow and spit out enemies as projectiles. At the beginning of the adventure you'll discover that his reach is rather short, but the coins that you collect along the way can used to purchase upgrades that'll increase the length of his tongue.
The game features six distinct areas with thirty levels split between them, and you can use magical pedestals to teleport yourself to the start of any location that you have previously explored. You'll want to open any treasure chests that you find as well, since some of them carry life capsules or huge coin bonuses. Depending on how thorough you are when searching for secrets and hidden areas, playing the game from start to finish could take up to a couple of hours.
