Mars TD is an excellent tower defense game created by Taro, developer of the unfairly difficult platformer Super Ear Man Bros. The objective here is to build turrets around the map and protect your base from the incoming alien invasion, because every enemy that reaches the base will steal some gold from your resources. You will lose if you run out of gold at the end of a wave, although players are allowed to continue up to three times from the level they last attempted.
Three options are available to you whenever you click on a friendly unit on the map. Selecting the first choice upgrades the turret by one level, up to a maximum of five. The cost of upgrading a unit depends on how much experience points it requires before the level counter is automatically increased by one.
The second option is used to switch the location of two turrets. No cost is incurred if this action is taken in-between waves, but the amount of gold required to switch units during battles will be indicated inside the selection box. Turrets and walls can be sold by choosing the third button.
You're definitely missing out on something special if you let the lack of English text for menus and descriptions prevent you from playing one of the best tower defense games out there.

These crates give you a random weapon every time, meaning that you won't be stuck with your favorite weapon for long if you intend to climb up the online high score tables. A random character is also generated for you every time you play, and more weapons and gameplay modes are unlocked for you automatically as you gather more crates during your playthrough.

Canabalt is a simple one-button action game where you are in control of a well-dressed man who can't stop running, leaping from the top of one building to another as the city is being attacked by giant robots and futuristic-looking ships.
You can control the height of your jumps by holding down the button for a longer or shorter period. Running into obstacles will slow you down, and they could be dangerous to crash into if you need all the speed you can get to clear a long gap between buildings.
Canabalt was created by Adam Saltsman for Experimental Gameplay Project's August theme, 'Bare Minimum'.

Unlike some of the popular multiplayer RPGs these days, Jick (real name Zack Johnson) first created Kingdom of Loathing as a simple game that had stick figures for character illustrations, seemingly random items and odd combat encounters with inhabitants of the land. KoL now boasts over a hundred thousand active users - an amazing achievement for a game which looks and plays exactly the same way as when it started out five years ago.

Karatekamania is a music rhythm game created by the developers of Mogura 2, where players are rated based on the timing and accuracy of their key presses while a song is being played in the background. Inspired by Nintendo's Rhythm Tengoku, this fan made version features slightly updated graphics, customizable settings, and even comes with an editor to facilitate the sharing of user creations.
Use the enter key, left or right mouse button to control the actions of the martial arts practitioner. Tap the space key to punch at a thrown object. Hold the same button to assume a stance, then press the up arrow key to execute a roundhouse kick. Mouse and gamepad controls are also supported.
The current build (1st style 1.7a) contains only four default levels and two songs, although new stages created by other contributors can be downloaded from Krobon Station's message board. Simply click on a link to any zip file, unzip it into the music folder and the song should be available to play from the song selection menu.

Out of the many Pengo remakes released in recent years, Push Push Penguin by Tomaz Kac still stands as the best one available with minor changes made to vary gameplay. Among some of it's improvements include a simultaneous two player mode using joysticks or a single keyboard, a new freeze move and additional bonus items to collect.
This particular effort may not impress the current generation of gamers but anyone who fondly remembers the arcade classic won't be disappointed one bit.
