Last Scenario

Last Scenario is a game made using the popular RPGMaker XP that could possibly rival Aveyond’s level of professionalism, perhaps even surpass it. Tiles, music and sound effects are standard material that is included with the package, but most of the character portraits, sprites and backgrounds seen in this release were created by the developer.

The C key is used for most interactions and menu selections. Press the X key to access the inventory screen or to cancel any choices. A medium length RPG with over a thousand rooms, side quests, a unique spellcard system and even a collectible board game, it’s quite unlikely that any fan would complete this production in a couple of sittings.

very nice game. well designed characters, well thought story, interesting mini game system. seems like many hours is spent on developing this game.

i’m stuck at the stage where the party went down a geological site to dig up old library documents. i can only find 3 orbs, missing the fire orb to open a door… can anyone help?

Man, I’m hankering for a good common guy’s RPG (no offense), but the download speed on all the mirrors is atrocious. Can anyone put it on Rapidshare or something? :(

Amazing game, and a lot of fun! Has that Final Fantasy 2 nostalgia, without being dependant on that nostalgia to be fun.

Anyone even come close to the end of this yet? Post a save!

You need yo go where the army barracks are. There’s a room that had a locked door that you couldn’t get in before. Simply try to open it..that will trigger the next scene

Well, I’m just past the part where Prince Wilhelm inspires the troops to fight for him and is shot by an arrow. Not knowing what else to do, I went over to the Tower in the upper left corner of the continent and defeated the key (and thus collected the key). I didn’t find anything else important in the tower. Alas, collecting the key did not advance the plot, so I have no idea what to do now. Any tips? I’d go back and talk to the fortune teller but the last time I checked (which was admittedly before I collected the key), the guy in Lunie wouldn’t let me use his boat.

you have to go to the antar camp and talk to the general he will tell you bout a plan to atack the pass -if u done that already then go tto gray peak (north of the pass) PS: how did u put the 4 pillars to open the 4rth door to get to the key in the tower?

  11. aguydude said,

    May 23rd, 2007 at 10:53 pm

Thanks, but I’ve already been to Grey Peak. There is no longer a rock to place on the hole on the left side of the peak, so I don’t understand how I can get across now. The guy at Kaiser Pass won’t let me through the gate, and I don’t know what to do with the Key of Punishment.

As for your question, there is a pattern of spots in the preceding pillars which represents the sides of dice. The forth set of pillars is a 4 and the pillars should be arranged as
    XOX
    OOO
    XOX

Xs are pillars. The space between the upper left pillar and the door will be the same as it was in the previous pillar arrangements.

I was rather disappointed that the solution to the 6th pillar puzzle broke the pattern, even though the 5th followed it (with a switch instead of pillar pushing). I at least expected a secret for trying it, but didn’t have any luck.

  16. Aguydude said,

I’m also stuck at the Tower of Sacrifice. I suspect the solution relates to the height of the 4 block towers (from left to right, it is 3,5,1,2).

  17. ProfPuppet said,

    May 28th, 2007 at 5:58 am

For the Tower of Sacrifice, push the pillars so that they’re the # of spaces away from the top as per the # of boxes above them. IE 3,5,1,2, the first pillar to your right as you enter (1 box) will be flush against the wall. Move the 3/5 pillar first, then push the 1 pillar up, get to the right of it (which you can do as long as you haven’t moved the 2 pillar) and push it a ways to the left. Then move the last pillar up.

I finished the game, but I’m missing 3 Hex tiles. I know that one of them is the last boss in the Gates to Elysium dungeon, one is Jord, not sure what the last one is. I have no idea where to get the Jord tile, I’ve played numerous games against everyone in Stonewall, tried talking to everyone there and in the port and so forth, no go. So for Page 9 I’m missing tiles 3 and 4, and for page 10 I’m missing tile 10. Any help?

Really wish I could congratulate Origami and talk to him about doing artwork for a new version of this or another game if he makes one, but no credit card = no goon account.

  20. ProfPuppet said,

The eccentric colleague of Randolph’s is at the Hermit’s Hideout in the Southwestern most area of the West continent. On the map, it would be almost directly south of the Geo-Science Station.

To get from Entalar to Herzog, I’m not sure why you aren’t able to. Though I did read about a bug that happens if you move in any direction out of Entalar on the worldmap except West after getting the Brunhilda II. Try reloading a save from a little earlier if for some reason your ship can’t leave the Entalar area.

Still need help getting those Hex Tiles, as in my above comment. :(

  25. ProfPuppet said,

Errr, which encounter with Omega Team, there’s a few. Also, the characters you’re using and the level you’re at would help.

When in doubt, build up your Crisis Break meter beforehand to full for every character by fighting monsters in one dungeon or another. Then you can X-Shield/Medicine Regen/Status Protection/Dexterity boost everyone. There’s lower level cards of all of those that you should be able to have for pretty much any encounter with them.

I only found 77 of the hex tiles, but at least I beat the game. Wasn’t willing to spend enough time leveling up to fully complete the Gate, though I got through the first couple bosses. A shame, I’m quite curious about the extras.

I’m busy writing an faq at the moment, and will try and put it up on gamefaqs once it’s done, which won’t be until the middle of next week probably. It’ll mainly deal with Hex cards, but I’m putting in the Towers/Tomes/Elysium/3rd Seal/Black Mausoleum etc. non-storyline additional dungeons too.

I’m on my New Game+ playthrough right now and am almost about to hit the Biorite Facility again, I’ll post where the C key is later today or tomorrow, as I don’t remember. The layout of that place is really confusing from what I remember.

i wonder if anyone can help me now… i have just gone back to lunei village after fighting the darkrift that zawu summons just as ethan joins your party.

I have no idea where to go next and the old lady in stonewall port who usually tells me where to go next doesnt have a clue either

  31. ProfPuppet said,

    June 3rd, 2007 at 8:11 pm

For the fight at Serinal Port, if your team is only 47, I would level up a bit first. Try doing the Tower of Punishment and then the Tower of Penance. Or leave the town and go someplace nearby where you can have random monsters thump on you long enough to build up all your crisis meters to full.

Hopefully someone with a SA account will point Origami here.

Really can’t remember where you need to go after the Darkrift fight- I didn’t start writing a walkthrough of the main plotline until the Biorite Facility. If I recall correctly you might need to go to Fardorf at this point.

  32. ProfPuppet said,

Made a real account for this since I’ve been posting so much.

Thanks, 100%BEEF from SA, I can lurk but no credit card = no posting. I was hoping to offer my art services to Origami, heh.

The walkthrough should be completed by Sunday. It’s spoiler-light and so far includes a walkthrough of the main plot, all the optional content, all boss level/reward/hex/stealable items from them, a listing of spellcards and where to get the unique ones as well as the highest stat % bonus cards, and a list of where to get each Hex card. (This is the part that’s taking a fair chunk of time- putting down where each Hex player is and what you can win from them.) Whew. Go-go Gadget run-on sentences.

Finally found the Jord card, too, whee. (Roderick in Serinal Port has it.)

i would love a more detailed explanation on how the hex game works, I just cant get my head around it

  38. Tim W. said,

    June 6th, 2007 at 9:42 am

Each player selects seven Hex tiles for their hand. A tile has two numbers on the left: Attack and Hit Points.

There are also dots on any of the six sides of the tiles. These are the attack directions.

When you put a tile on the board, its current HP shows in green. It always starts at the maximum.

When a tile is put down, it first attacks all opposing tiles in its attack directions.

When a tile is attacked, its HP is reduced by the other tile’s Attack value.

After the new tile is attacked, all surrounding enemy tiles may attack the new tile as well.

At the end of the combat round, all tiles that are reduced to 0 HP are flipped over.

Once the board is full, the winner is the one who has the most tiles of his colour on the board.

The winner is allowed to take any one tile from the loser’s hand.

It’s good to remember that if you put a tile down with no dot on a side, it can be freely attacked from there.

You make it harder on your opponent if many spaces are attackable by at least one of your tiles.

On the left side of the card, the top number is the damage each hit does, the bottom is the total hp the card has. On the right bottom, in green, is current hp. When the hp hits 0, the card switches hands and gets full hp back. The dots are the angles cards can attack. When a card is placed, it attacks, and is attacked, once by all allowable angles. I usually just take one of each of my most powerful cards. Don’t bother taking more than around 2 of any card, as you need a couple attack profiles. If all your cards attack to the left, for example, you’re hosed if you have to attack to the right.

  39. ProfPuppet said,

    June 7th, 2007 at 7:27 am

I just found the third smiley enemy at the Seal, and I have to say it had me cracking up with the name of its attack. I’m including all these guys in the FAQ- hopefully I’ve found or will find them all.

    hero’s soul (ring)
    fury (spellcard)
saraswati after you beat her in whitelake

    hex cards:

    page 8 - 4 and 7

  42. pilch said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 3:40 am

i believe you can steal intelligence capsules from the white guardians in the hall of judgement :)

still don’t know where to find the fury card =[ if it’s stolen from a boss i guess i’ll have to start a new game+, but thankfully invisible ring will make that a piece of cake :>

    damn ultimate boss, teh hards

  43. Prof said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 4:21 am

The Fury spellcard is gained from a chest in the Third Entalar Seal when you go there again, after the storyline takes you there.

Hall of Judgement random enemy has the Mind Capsules that increase MP, but not Intelligence capsules. It’s killing me because I know I’ve seen enemies that have the 3 I’m missing, but I can’t find them.

  44. pilch said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 4:31 am

ah excellent, thanks a lot :-)

well, i just went in there and stole an int capsule from a light guardian :P

perhaps there are 2 kinds, one that drops int and one that drops mind, even though they all look the same, i did notice that sometimes they have different tactics. so sometimes they use p-shield, sometimes m-shield, sometimes no shield etc

  45. Prof said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 4:44 am

You’re right! I thought I stole an Int capsule off one once, but the next one I scanned had a Mind capsule, as did the next one, so I didn’t bother scanning. Just popped back in there with Lure equipped and bingo, they sometimes have Intelligence capsules. :)

The Black Knights at the Mausoleum have Dexterity Capsules.

  47. Prof said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 7:34 am

The Black Knight is a boss, not a repeatable enemy unfortunately.

  48. Anonymous said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 7:44 am

I don’t think so. The Rook, the Queen, and the King are one-time bosses, but Knights appear regularly in the second half of the Mausoleum.

  49. Prof said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 8:26 am

Whoa! Never encountered the Knight/Pawns before. I wonder if there’s Bishop enemies I haven’t found before, too. I was thinking yesterday how weird it was that he had the King, Queen, and Rook, but not the other pieces.

    Thanks a ton!

What I think happened is this- after a certain point in the dungeon I put on the Lure accessory, then after a bunch of fights, thinking I had seen all the enemies, I put on the Invisibility Ring. They must only spawn in the last few rooms. Even with the Lure ring on in the last few rooms it took a bunch of fights to see them, but that could very well just be poor luck.

Walkthrough will be finished Monday or Tuesday- It’s 95% complete at the moment.

  50. Prof said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 8:29 am

Still need the Speed Capsule stealable enemy. I thought there were some on the Lemuria, but, if you’ve gotten past that, you know that it’s a one-shot deal so I won’t be able to check before I finish up the FAQ.

  51. pilch said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 12:49 pm

there are indeed black bishops, they appear only in certain sections of the mausoleum, when you are getting close to a boss (rook, queen, king).

if you have beaten the black king the easiest way to fight these (they give much better xp and items than the other monsters (red draconight, petrifier, hydra).

you can steal serpent eye from the bishops, and as the guy before you said, dex capsules from the knights. the pawns only have slap.. so kill them off first as they are pretty fast ;p

argh i thought i was doing ok against planetary, then planetary nova kills 3 of my team in 1 hit :’( i think maybe a new game+ worth of resistance capsules is needed here :P

  52. pilch said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 12:50 pm

urgh just realised i forgot to finish that 2nd line.. xD

if you’ve beaten the black king, just go back through the portal to where you fought him, down 1 room, and voila, a save point where you only fight black knights, bishops and pawns. happy joy

  53. Prof said,

    June 11th, 2007 at 6:43 pm

Yeah, I went through the portal back to the King’s room, ran around with a Lure on, and the moment I stepped through the second door before the King’s chamber it was a giant chess party.

Tried the bonus final boss myself, but ugh, I’m waiting until I get another Arch-Angel’s Halo or two.

Not sure if I’ll finish up the walkthrough tonight, at the moment it’s over 60 pages though. Just have to finish some early to midgame walkthrough stuff, hopefully find the Speed Capsule enemy, and do a final runthrough to make sure there aren’t any errors.

  54. Prof said,

Anyone know what the Amnesia status effect does? I never really noticed anything when my characters had it, though once I thought their Crisis Meters might have decreased a bit.

  55. pilch said,

    June 12th, 2007 at 1:39 pm

amnsesia prevents any positive status effects on your characters when it is active, so you can remove it and the buffs will still be there (presuming they haven’t expired)

as far as i know, nothing can decrease your crisis bar, apart from using it :-)

  56. SCF said,

    June 12th, 2007 at 4:42 pm

Actually, Amnesia is like Enfeeble, except it reduces intelligence instead of strength.

Prof, mail me if you have any more questions like these. I don’t want to reveal all secrets and tell you exactly how the game works, but if it’s questions like what certain status effects or skills do I can clear up the confusion.

  57. pilch said,

    June 13th, 2007 at 1:53 am

ah, my mistake, perhaps the reason i thought this was that the graphics for buffs changed when amnesia was in effect, and when i noticed this it was before i realised selecting a character with a spell told you all buffs, not only the one with the domininant graphics :)

  58. Prof said,

    June 13th, 2007 at 6:09 am

  59. Anonymous said,

A little note about the last Elysium boss: I found out that Hilbert with the +100 speed cape found from the Mausoleum was faster than the boss. That helped quite a lot and enabled me to beat the boss at lvl 95 without using the Party Hat. Just needed a lot of revive items and a couple of healing orbs to fully restore mp of my casters. Occasionally I was able to nuke or vortex him and after about 30 soul essences he was done for.

Also, the walkthrough’s level range 90-99 for Elysium is a bit misleading, as you can beat two of the bosses around level 70 or so and gain a few levels without grinding.

  60. pilch said,

    June 13th, 2007 at 1:25 pm

I really can’t understand why people prefer ‘axe’ over ’sword’..
axe only has greater STR, HP and MP, every other stat is by far inferior to sword, most by a long long way.

my suggestion is save a few STR, life and magic capsules and use them on sword, then you have absolutely no reason to ever need axe. Despite the fact that from the time you get him to to the time you get sword, he is probably your best party member, he fades towards the end of the game and I haven’t used him in ages (he’s the only non-99 i have left, and he never will be :P)

as you can see, I recently enrolled in the prof puppet school of spoiler-free writing :D

oh, and big congrats on getting the walkthrough up prof, if I hadn’t already beaten 99.9% of this game I would be eagerly reading every last word of it :)

  61. Prof said,

    June 13th, 2007 at 8:18 pm

You’re right, Pilch, aside from Vitality and a couple other stats that are a bit lower, across the board she has very high natural stats. I forgot to re-evaluate her once I got everyone up to level 99.

I need to update the walkthrough, as SCF pointed out a few things to me. It should include error corrections, better consistency and formatting, and I’m thinking of making a full item list and adding the Weak/Resist/Immune/Absorb attributes for all bosses.

Also, the Hero’s Soul accessory is godly, which I didn’t realize until SCF explained what it does. Try equipping Hilbert with just that, his Ultimate Weapon, and some low-level armor that has no attributes other than basic stat increases and play around in the 3rd Seal or Mausoleum to see.

Alexander is very, very hard. Don’t know what to do. Keep on trying I guess. Thanks to Prof for a well-done walkthrough.

I believe the guy with the Jord card is the solider in a red cape wandering around the main town square or Serinal Port, just South of the save crystal.

    I *think*

Try to cast laser as often as possible, heal everyone with the weakest person in your party.

also extremely helpful for the rift gate boss: use your consumable items that do non-elemental damage (grenades etc.)
