Top 100 Indie Games

GameTunnel has recently published a rather noteworthy list consisting of the top hundred indie games reviewed on their site for the past three years. The list is extremely comprehensive and doesn’t end up looking like a top ten bestselling title on any of the casual game portals - so credits to Russell and his team of hardworking reviewers for doing a brilliant job of summarizing the scene into one page.

The format is a bit weird — why give bigger reviews to every 5th title in the top 100? Shouldn’t the first 20 or so be big and the rest small? Anyway, that’s just a small complaint, it’s good to have a list like this.

I don’t know, the list’s not that great. I mean, Jets’n'Guns twice in the top 20? There’s easily 100 better shmups out there.

Personally I think an awful lot of freeware games are ignored but that’s because they don’t tend to cover a lot of freeware stuff.

Cute Knight is in a top 100 ? Man this can’t be. This game is disappointing, if not awful. Very strange list - and not a single freeware.
